Although macOS Sonoma still lacks some features, version 14.2 finally adds some of them, such as:
Sticker reactions: React to a message with any Live Sticker, Memoji or Animoji via the sticker drawer or directly via the Tapback menu.

Collaborate on playlists: Invite friends to join your playlist and everyone can add, reorder and remove songs. In Now Playing, you can use emojis to react to song choices in Apple Music. That said, it looks like you still can't invite a friend to join a playlist in macOS 14.2 beta.
Edit playlists: There's a new edit button for playlists where you can add custom covers (a feature in iOS 17.1) and description with macOS 14.2 beta.
iMessage Contact Key Check: Contact Key Verification allows you to manually check who you are messaging by comparing contact verification codes in person or over the phone. Conversations with people who have contact key verification enabled also receive automatic advanced protections to help prevent even very sophisticated attackers from impersonating someone in a conversation.
That said, macOS 14.2 beta still lacks some delayed Sonoma features, such as:
- Smart PDF Form Detection: Fillable documents and forms can now be automatically identified throughout the system, such as in Files, Mail, or scanned documents.
- Improved PDF AutoFill: Fill in information like names and addresses in forms even faster, as advanced on-device language models identify fillable fields and enable autofill.
- Multiple timers: Run multiple timers on your Mac simultaneously, perfect for when you're cooking and need to keep track of different steps and dishes.
With the macOS 14.2 beta cycle just beginning, we'll let you know what we discover in upcoming builds. Along with macOS 14.2 beta 3, Apple is also releasing the third test version of iOS 17.2, iPadOS 17.2, watchOS 10.2, and tvOS 17.2.
