One of the most outstanding issues when it comes to new deck builder games involves the idea of restrictions. In Midnight Suns, players will be upgrading and collecting tons of new cards for each character and will want to use the best ones possible. Unfortunately, this would put the game in a state of disarray. As you defeat each mission and enemy the game throws at you, players will miss out on key resources used to enhance the game's mechanics. firaxis games obviously decided to add some restrictions for which cards can be used in a deck. We're moving on to answer the question: what are the deck building restrictions in Midnight Suns?

Marvel's Midnight Sun requires the player to have a total of 8 skill cards equipped to a hero to use in battle. Additionally, players must have at least 1 Attack, AbilityIt is Heroic card in a deck of heroes. Simply put, the attacks are yours main source of damageSkills, on the other hand, provide certain buffs or de-buffs towards the player or enemies around the player, respectively. Heroism is a bombastic combination of the two most common cards, providing big damage as well as a buff or debuff against enemies to accompany you.
What deck building restrictions exist in Midnight Suns?
The game provides certain restrictions, only allowing 4 total cards with the same type to be used in a deck. Sometimes the player will have duplicates of the same skill card and you'll want to get as many of them into your deck as possible. However, the game will only allow the player to use 2 of the exact same card in a deck. By progressing further through the game, players can also unlock legendary abilities that are super powerful compared to other normal cards. With these, just 1 legendary skill can be used in a deck. The game will also provide its own restrictions based on certain challenges in different missions. This may require you to mix up your deck building and figure out which cards will work for challenges.

Midnight Suns aims to allow players to build and create their own decks to play in their own way. The restrictions that are in place don't seem to compromise this idea, while also ensuring that the game's mechanics are on full display. More characters have already been announced to join the roster currently in place at the time of release. So it will be interesting to see new additions to the character and card base, and how they affect the game in their own ways.
